Privacy Policy — Inline Communications Click to Dial

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This policy explains what the Inline Communications Click to Dial browser
extension (“the extension”) collects, how it is used, and your choices. The
extension is provided by Inline Communications (“we”, “us”) to customers whose
administrators have provisioned an account for them.

What the extension does

The extension detects phone numbers on the web pages you visit and turns them
into clickable call buttons. When you click one, it asks the Inline
Communications backend to place a call: your desk phone rings, and when you
answer, the call connects to the number you clicked.

Information we collect

  • Account and authentication information. The email address and
password you enter to sign in are sent to the Inline Communications backend to
authenticate you. A session token is then stored locally in your browser so you
stay signed in. We do not store your password in the extension.
  • Numbers you call. When you click a phone number, that number is
sent to the backend to place the call. Call records (such as the time, your
extension, and the destination number) are stored on Inline Communications
systems to operate and support the service.
  • Web page content. The extension reads the text of the pages you
visit in your browser to find phone numbers. This processing happens locally in
your browser. Page content is not transmitted to us; only the specific number
you click is sent, and only to place your call.
  • Preferences. Your settings (the backend address, light or dark
theme, and whether call buttons are shown) are stored locally in your browser.

How we use information

Information is used solely to provide the service: to authenticate you and to
place and record calls through your organization’s phone system. We do not use it
for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

How information is shared

Call requests are processed by the Inline Communications backend and routed
through your organization’s phone system (PBX). We do not share your information
with third parties except as needed to operate the service or as required by law.

Data retention

The session token remains in your browser until you sign out, your session
expires, or your administrator revokes it. Call records are retained by Inline
Communications for as long as needed to operate and support the service and to
meet legal and business requirements.

Security

Communication with the backend uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). The extension
communicates only with the Inline Communications backend and no other site. Your
administrator can disable your account or revoke your session at any time, which
takes effect immediately.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time from the extension, turn off the on-page call buttons
with the extension’s switch, or remove the extension from your browser. To access,
correct, or delete account data held by Inline Communications, contact us using
